(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man was arrested Sunday afternoon following a domestic dispute that resulted in multiple charges, including endangering the welfare of a child.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the Second Platoon responded to a domestic disturbance on the city’s west side around 3:16 p.m. on October 19, 2025.

Police say an investigation revealed that 37-year-old Kedrin D. Murphy initiated an argument with the victim. During the altercation, Murphy allegedly grabbed the victim’s phone as she attempted to call 911. At the time, the victim was holding a baby, and the incident reportedly caused the child to hit its head.

Officers determined that Murphy then damaged the phone by throwing it. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Murphy was charged with two counts of Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
