(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A large-scale narcotics investigation led to a major drug seizure and one arrest in Jamestown on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, a coordinated effort between the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators, the Jamestown Police Department, and the Dunkirk Police Department resulted in the execution of a search warrant at 168 Barrett Avenue, Apartment 1, in Jamestown around 12:25 p.m. on October 22.

During the search, investigators located and seized approximately 7.7 pounds of methamphetamine, 5.5 grams of fentanyl, scales, packaging materials used for drug distribution, and $1,198 in U.S. currency.

At the residence, authorities arrested 37-year-old Cassandra M. Chadwick of Jamestown. Chadwick was charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree
  • Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree

Chadwick was taken into custody and will be arraigned in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Law enforcement officials described the investigation as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt narcotics trafficking within the city and throughout Chautauqua County.
