(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – An 18-year-old Jamestown man was arrested early Tuesday morning following a reported domestic incident on the city’s east side.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the 3rd Platoon responded to an address around 3:28 a.m. on October 28 for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon investigation, police determined that James T. Leonard, 18, allegedly assaulted a female victim by striking her in the face multiple times with his fist.

Leonard was later located at his residence and taken into custody without incident. He was charged with Assault in the Third Degree and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
