(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man was arrested Friday evening after police responded to a report of a fight on the city’s south side, resulting in charges of endangering the welfare of a child.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the 2nd Platoon responded to a Southside residence on October 24, 2025, at approximately 6:57 p.m. for a reported physical altercation in progress.

Police say their investigation revealed that 34-year-old Jamie P. Sheldon was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with another individual while two minor children were present.

Sheldon was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. He faces two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
