(WNY News Now) – RIPLEY, N.Y. — A Ripley man has been charged following an investigation into a report of child endangerment, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.

On October 20, 2025, investigators with the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division looked into a complaint involving potential harm to a child. During the course of the investigation, deputies determined that Ryan M. Deland, 34, of Ripley, allegedly caused bruising to a child.

Deland was subsequently charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He is scheduled to answer the charge in Ripley Town Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
