(WNY News Now) – A Dunkirk woman was arrested after allegedly damaging another woman’s phone during a confrontation inside the Dunkirk Police Department lobby.

DUNKIRK, N.Y. — A 27-year-old Dunkirk resident, identified as Jermarie Colon-Rosario, was charged with criminal mischief following an incident at the Dunkirk Police Headquarters on October 30, 2025, around 2:59 p.m.

According to a news release from the Dunkirk Police Department, officers from the 3-11 p.m. patrol shift responded to the police station lobby after reports of two women engaged in a physical altercation.

Upon investigation, police determined that Colon-Rosario had come to the station to report an unrelated matter involving the other woman, identified as the victim. When the victim entered the lobby, Colon-Rosario allegedly shoved her, grabbed her phone, and smashed it on the ground.

Colon-Rosario was taken into custody at the scene and charged with Criminal Mischief. She was later held for arraignment before Hon. John Kuzdale. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
