(WNY News Now) – ELLICOTT, N.Y. — An 18-year-old Randolph resident has been charged in connection with a reported shoplifting incident at a local convenience store, according to the Town of Ellicott Police Department.

Authorities say officers responded to the Crosby Mart on Route 60 on November 15, 2025, for a past-tense larceny complaint. It is alleged that the suspect, identified as Shawn Robert W. Bailey, entered the store, took merchandise without paying, and then fled on foot.

Police report that Bailey was later identified during the investigation. He subsequently turned himself in to police and was charged with Petit Larceny.

Bailey was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
