(WNY News Now) – Police say a 34-year-old woman was taken into custody after officers responded to a reported burglary in progress at a Jamestown business.

Jamestown police arrested Brea A. Wilkins-Carlson, 34, on Friday afternoon after responding to a report of a possible burglary at a west side business.

According to police, officers from the First Platoon were dispatched to the location at approximately 12:41 p.m. on January 9, 2026. Upon arrival, officers observed Wilkins-Carlson exiting the business through a window.

An investigation determined that two windows at the property had been broken. Wilkins-Carlson, who is described as a homeless individual, was taken into custody without incident.

She was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she was held pending arraignment in the City of Jamestown Court. Wilkins-Carlson was charged with Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree and Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
