(WNY News Now) – Chautauqua County deputies arrested a Clymer man after determining he was in violation of a court order during an early morning service attempt in the Town of Chautauqua.
Deputies with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by New York State Parole, responded to a residence on Potter Road in Mayville at approximately 7:38 a.m. on January 9, 2026, to attempt to serve legal papers.
During the service attempt, deputies determined that Alexander K. Latta, 30, of Clymer, New York, was present at the location and was in violation of a duly served court order issued by the Town of Chautauqua Court. As a result, Latta was taken into custody at the scene.
Latta was charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
Following processing, Latta was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
