(WNY News Now) – ELLICOTT, N.Y. — A Jamestown man has been charged after police say his dog was repeatedly found running at large in the Town of Ellicott.

According to the Town of Ellicott Police Department, Jerry L. McMaster, 56, of Jamestown, was charged with Dog at Large on February 4 in connection with an animal complaint investigation.

Police reported that officers responded to an animal complaint under Incident Report 26-1097. It is alleged that McMaster’s dog was at large at the time of the complaint. Authorities also stated they have received several complaints over the past several months involving the same dog being at large.

As a result of the investigation, McMaster was issued an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer to the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
