(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY — Two Jamestown residents were charged following a reported person with a weapon and domestic-related incident Monday afternoon on the city’s southside.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the department’s 2nd Platoon responded to a residence at approximately 3:29 p.m. on February 23, 2026, after receiving a report of a person with a handgun.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim and two individuals identified as Kevin A. Garcia-Maldonado, 24, and Tasia M. Davey, 27, both of Jamestown.

Police said that during the investigation, officers determined Garcia-Maldonado allegedly menaced the victim with a handgun during a verbal argument. Authorities also reported that Davey made physical threats of harm toward the victim during the incident.

Officers recovered a Taurus 9mm handgun at the scene. Police determined that Garcia-Maldonado did not possess a valid New York State pistol permit.

Garcia-Maldonado was charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm
  • Menacing in the Second Degree

Davey was charged with:

  • Harassment in the Second Degree

Both individuals were transported to the Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

As with all criminal charges, the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
