(WNY News Now) – FALCONER, N.Y. — A structure fire in the Village of Falconer on Sunday afternoon has been ruled accidental following an investigation into its origin and cause.

Fire crews were dispatched to 232 E. Elmwood Ave at approximately 4:55 p.m. on March 15, 2026, after reports of a residential structure fire. The Falconer Fire Department responded to the scene with assistance from mutual aid departments.

Firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control and successfully extinguished the fire. No injuries or occupants were reported in the initial incident details.

Following suppression efforts, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to determine the origin and cause of the fire.

Investigators determined that the fire originated in the kitchen area of the home. The cause was identified as an electrical malfunction, and the incident has been ruled accidental.
