(WNY News Now) – ELLICOTT, N.Y. — A Falconer man faces multiple charges after a traffic stop early Saturday morning in the Town of Ellicott led to a driving while intoxicated investigation.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Fairmount Avenue at approximately 1:46 a.m. on March 28, 2026.

The driver was identified as 23-year-old Giovanni E. Collver of Falconer. Following an investigation at the scene, deputies determined that Collver was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Collver was taken into custody and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), DWI per se, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, speeding, and having no or inadequate lights.

Collver is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
