(WNY News Now) – POMFRET, N.Y. — A Jamestown man is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop early Sunday morning in the Town of Pomfret led to a driving while intoxicated arrest.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Route 60 at approximately 2:31 a.m. on March 29. The driver was identified as 21-year-old Ryan P. Fitzgerald of Jamestown.
Following an investigation, deputies determined that Fitzgerald was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was taken into custody and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), DWI per se, and operating a vehicle with no or inadequate lights.
Fitzgerald is scheduled to appear in Pomfret Town Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
