(WNY News Now) – OLEAN, N.Y. — A 39-year-old man was taken into custody Monday evening after police discovered multiple active bench warrants issued out of Olean City Court, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

Dimitrius M. Romer, listed as homeless, was arrested at approximately 5:10 p.m. on April 6, 2026, after coming into contact with the Bath Police Department. Authorities reported that Romer had two active bench warrants from Olean City Court at the time of the encounter.

Following his arrest, Romer was turned over to Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies. He was then transported to the Cattaraugus County Jail, where he is being held pending further court proceedings. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
