Dunkirk man charged with driving while intoxicated following crash into residences on Park Avenue.

(WNY News Now) – DUNKIRK, N.Y. — A 55-year-old Dunkirk man was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge after a pickup truck struck two houses on the city’s west side Thursday evening, according to the Dunkirk Police Department.

Police say the incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. on April 16, on the 400 block of Park Avenue. Officers assigned to the 3–11 shift responded alongside Dunkirk Fire Department personnel after receiving reports of a vehicle crashing into a residence.

Upon arrival, authorities located a pickup truck that had collided with two homes, causing significant damage to the porch of one structure. The driver, identified as Brian T. Mason of Dunkirk, was treated at the scene by fire department personnel for unspecified injuries.

Following an investigation, officers determined Mason was intoxicated. He was taken into custody and charged with Driving While Intoxicated under New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law, along with additional traffic violations.

Mason was transported to Dunkirk Police Department headquarters for processing. He was later arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
