(WNY News Now) – LOCKPORT, N.Y. — An 83-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman died Wednesday evening following a rollover crash on Ridge Road in the Town of Lockport, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say the crash occurred at approximately 6:34 p.m. on April 22, 2026, in the 5300 block of Ridge Road. The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received multiple reports of a serious motor vehicle accident at that location.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette was traveling westbound when it left the roadway on the north side. The vehicle then struck a culvert and rolled over multiple times.
The driver, identified as an 83-year-old male from Cheektowaga, and his passenger, a 73-year-old female from Williamsville, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit is continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash. No additional details regarding contributing factors have been released at this time.
Multiple emergency agencies responded to the scene, including Wright’s Corners, Miller Hose, and Cambria volunteer fire companies, along with Niagara County EMS, Mercy EMS, and Mercy Flight of Western New York. The Niagara County Fire Coordinator’s Office and Fire Police Team also assisted.
