(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown woman is facing driving while intoxicated charges after a traffic stop early Tuesday morning on the city’s south side, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

Police said officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Third Platoon conducted a vehicle and traffic stop at approximately 2:09 a.m. on May 19, 2026, near the intersection of Fluvanna Avenue and Homestead Avenue in Jamestown.

During the investigation, officers determined that the driver, identified as 27-year-old Molly K. Preston, was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Preston was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. She was charged with driving while intoxicated along with additional uniform traffic tickets.

After processing, Preston was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
