(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown woman has been charged with petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child following an alleged shoplifting incident at Wegmans in the Town of Ellicott, according to local police.

The Town of Ellicott Police Department reported that Amanda S. Pollaro, 41, of Jamestown, was charged on June 12, 2026, after officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at Wegmans.

Police allege that Pollaro passed the point of purchase without paying for merchandise. Authorities further stated that the alleged incident occurred in the presence of a juvenile, leading to an additional charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

Pollaro was issued appearance tickets for petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child. She is scheduled to appear in Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer the charges.

All charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
