(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown woman was charged with drug possession after police conducted a traffic stop on Lakeview Avenue during the early morning hours of June 16.

On June 16, 2026, at approximately 1:41 a.m., officers with the Jamestown Police Department’s Third Platoon conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Lakeview Avenue and Crossman Street after observing a traffic violation.

According to police, an investigation during the stop revealed that the driver, 43-year-old Jillian J. Francis of Jamestown, was in possession of a small quantity of cocaine.

Francis was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail for processing. She was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.

Following processing, Francis was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.

All charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
