(WNY News Now) – A 22-year-old Bemus Point resident was charged with driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop by Jamestown police early Wednesday morning.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Bemus Point resident is facing driving while intoxicated (DWI) and additional traffic-related charges following a traffic stop in Jamestown during the early morning hours of July 22.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the Third Platoon conducted a vehicle stop at approximately 1:29 a.m. at the intersection of Hazzard Street and Prather Avenue.

Police said their investigation determined that the driver, identified as Tessa J. Reed, 22, of Bemus Point, was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Reed was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail for processing. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and multiple uniform traffic tickets (UTTs).

Following processing, Reed was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.

The charges are allegations, and Reed is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
