(WNY News Now) – FREWSBURG, N.Y. — A 32-year-old Frewsburg man was arrested after a Town of Ellicott Police investigation into a reported domestic dispute in which authorities allege he repeatedly violated an active order of protection by calling the victim hundreds of times.

According to the Town of Ellicott Police Department, officers responded to a past domestic incident at approximately 12:30 a.m. on July 11, 2026. Investigators allege that Mitchell A. Costanzo, 32, called a female victim more than 200 times despite a complete stay-away order of protection being in effect.

Police charged Costanzo with Stalking in the Fourth Degree, Aggravated Harassment in the Second Degree, Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, and Aggravated Family Offense.

Authorities said Costanzo was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The allegations are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
