(WNY News Now) – A Fredonia woman has been charged following a months-long investigation into the alleged theft of more than $11,000 from multiple patients at a nursing facility in the Town of Dunkirk, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office announced that 45-year-old Stacy A. Fadale of Fredonia was charged with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree following an investigation that began on April 22, 2026.

Investigators said they received a complaint alleging that patient funds had been stolen from a nursing facility in the Town of Dunkirk. During a months-long investigation, authorities determined that Fadale allegedly stole more than $11,000 from multiple patients over the course of several years.

According to investigators, Fadale is also accused of destroying facility records in an effort to conceal the alleged theft of patient funds.

A warrant for Fadale’s arrest was issued by the Town of Dunkirk Court. On Aug. 5, 2026, she turned herself in and was arraigned through the Chautauqua County Jail Centralized Arraignment Program.

The charges are accusations, and Fadale is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
