(WNY News Now) – A 36-year-old Jamestown woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop early Sunday morning on the city’s north side, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Officers with the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon arrested a Jamestown woman on multiple charges following a traffic stop at approximately 2:22 a.m. on Aug. 2.

Police said officers observed a vehicle fail to use a turn signal and conducted a traffic stop. During the investigation, officers determined the driver, Danielle N. Payne, 36, was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Payne was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail for processing.

She was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Driving While Intoxicated Per Se, and issued a traffic ticket for No/Inadequate Signal.

Following processing, Payne was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.

The charges are allegations, and Payne is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
