(WNY News Now) – A 29-year-old Cassadaga man was arrested early Wednesday following a reported physical altercation in the Town of Charlotte, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to an address in the Town of Charlotte at about 12:43 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, for a report of an altercation.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, an investigation determined that James M. Corbin, 29, of Cassadaga, allegedly became involved in a physical altercation with another individual.

Corbin was arrested and charged with attempted assault in the second degree, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, criminal mischief in the fourth degree, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Corbin was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for CAP arraignment.

The charges are allegations, and Corbin is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
