(WNY News Now) – A 33-year-old Pennsylvania woman was arrested early Sunday after Jamestown police said she resisted officers and assaulted an officer during an unwanted-person call downtown.

Jamestown Police officers responded to the downtown area at about 2:34 a.m. on August 16, 2026, for a report of an unwanted person.

According to police, Eve A. Yea, 33, of Pennsylvania, was attempting to strike the windows of a downtown business with a large rock.

Officers attempted to intervene and gave Yea lawful commands, police said. Yea allegedly failed to comply and was taken into custody.

Police said Yea resisted arrest and assaulted an officer during the arrest.

Yea was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

She was charged with second-degree assault, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

The charges are allegations, and Yea is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
