(WNY News Now) – A 46-year-old Cattaraugus woman was arrested Saturday after an investigation into a reported shoplifting incident at a liquor store in Randolph, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sherrie Carter, 46, of Cattaraugus, N.Y., on a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny on September 5, 2026.

Deputies said the arrest followed an investigation into a reported shoplifting incident at a liquor store located on Main Street in Randolph.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Carter was identified through surveillance camera footage during the investigation.

Carter was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Randolph Town Court later this month. The charge is an allegation, and Carter is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
