(WNY News Now) – A 35-year-old Jamestown man was arrested after police investigated a stabbing that left a victim with serious injuries near the Riverwalk Trail.
The Jamestown Police Department responded to the area of 7 North Main Street at about 10:30 p.m. on September 4, 2026, for a reported stabbing near the Riverwalk Trail.
Officers located the victim, who was treated at the scene before being transported for further medical care. Police said the victim suffered injuries believed to be serious.
The investigation led police to obtain an arrest warrant for David D. Rodriguez, 35, of Jamestown. He was charged with Assault in the First Degree, alleging that he stabbed the victim and caused serious physical injury.

Members of the Jamestown Police Department’s First Platoon later located Rodriguez and took him into custody.
Rodriguez was arraigned in Jamestown City Court and committed to the Chautauqua County Jail.
The investigation involved assistance from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Fire Department and Alstar Ambulance.
The charge is an accusation, and Rodriguez is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
