(WNY News Now) – A 35-year-old Jamestown man was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs following an early-morning traffic stop Sunday.

Jamestown police charged Dustin A. Turner with DWAI drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree after a traffic stop near Barker Street and Foote Avenue.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the third platoon stopped a vehicle at about 3:55 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13.

During the investigation, officers determined Turner was allegedly operating the vehicle while his ability was impaired by drugs, police said.

Officers also allegedly found Turner in possession of a quantity of cocaine.

Turner was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He was later released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court.

The charges are allegations, and Turner is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
