(WNY News Now) – A 21-year-old Jamestown man was arrested Wednesday after police responded to a reported domestic dispute on West Fifth Street.

Jamestown police arrested Tysean L. Mays, 21, of Jamestown, following a reported physical domestic dispute Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the first platoon were dispatched to a residence on W. Fifth Street around 1 p.m. Sept. 16.

Police said an officer observed Mays allegedly pulling a pregnant woman into the residence by her hair. Officers followed Mays into the residence and separated the two individuals, according to police.

Authorities said Mays continued to struggle with officers at the scene before being taken into custody.

Mays was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, second-degree harassment and resisting arrest.

He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where police said he was being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

The allegations are charges, and Mays is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
