(WNY News Now) – A 25-year-old Jamestown woman was arrested Thursday after police said she was found with a man who was protected by a stay-away order of protection against her.

Officers with the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon were checking behind a business on the city’s southeast side at about 3:15 p.m. Sept. 17 for an unrelated trespassing suspect when they encountered Samantha J. Lugo.

According to police, officers observed Lugo sitting next to a male who had a full stay-away order of protection against her.

Police said Lugo was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

An investigation determined that Lugo had a prior conviction for Criminal Contempt in the First Degree. Based on that conviction, police charged her with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, a felony.

Lugo was being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

The charge is an allegation, and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
