(WNY News Now) – A 40-year-old Bradford, Pennsylvania, woman was arrested in Carrollton after Cattaraugus County sheriff’s deputies found an active warrant during a traffic stop.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the Seneca Nation Allegany Territory arrested Ashley J. Newhouse, 40, of Bradford, Pennsylvania, on September 25 following a traffic stop on Route 219 in the Town of Carrollton.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped Newhouse at approximately 10:17 p.m. for an alleged vehicle and traffic law violation.

During the stop, deputies determined that Newhouse was wanted on an active warrant from McKean County, Pennsylvania. The warrant stemmed from an alleged probation violation related to a driving under the influence of drugs case.

Newhouse was taken into custody and processed before being transported to Carrollton Town Court for arraignment.

She was subsequently remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail without bail while extradition proceedings are pending.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
