(WNY News Now) – A 36-year-old Jamestown man was arrested Wednesday after police responded to a suspicious situation complaint at a business parking lot on the city’s southeast side.

Jamestown Police officers responded to the parking lot at about 5 p.m. Sept. 23 for a report of a suspicious situation, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

During the investigation, officers identified the vehicle’s operator as Matthew T. Goon, 36, of Jamestown.

Police said Goon was found to be in possession of a quantity of a controlled substance and was allegedly operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs.

Goon was taken into custody and charged with:

• Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs
• Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree

Goon was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

The charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
