(WNY News Now) – A 21-year-old Jamestown man was taken into custody Thursday after police say he was found inside a woman’s home despite an active stay-away order of protection.

Jamestown Police officers working a STRIVE Domestic Violence Detail responded to a west-side address around 9:26 a.m. Sept. 24 for an order of protection check.

According to police, an investigation determined that Tysean L. Mays, 21, was inside the female victim’s residence despite having been issued a stay-away order of protection.

Mays was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Police charged Mays with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree. He was being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

The charge is an accusation, and Mays is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
