(WNY News Now) – A 42-year-old Jamestown man was arrested following an investigation into an alleged domestic incident and multiple violations of an Order of Protection, according to Jamestown police.
Jamestown Police Department officers responded to an east-side residence at approximately 6:30 p.m. Sept. 28 for a reported past-tense domestic incident.
Police said their investigation determined that Ryan D. Edwards, 42, of Jamestown, allegedly damaged the protected party’s cellular phone before forcibly taking her to the ground and applying pressure to her neck.
According to police, Edwards also allegedly contacted the protected party multiple times using generated telephone numbers following the incident.
Police said Edwards returned to the protected party’s residence the following day and made contact with her, which investigators allege was another violation of the Order of Protection.
With assistance from the Ellicott Police Department, officers located Edwards outside the City of Jamestown and took him into custody.
Edwards was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where police said he was being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
He faces two counts of Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, along with one count each of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.
The charges are allegations, and Edwards is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
