(WNY News Now) – A 39-year-old Jamestown man was arrested early Wednesday after police said he was found hiding near a residence where an order of protection prohibited him from being present.

Jamestown Police officers responded to an East Side residence around 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, for a reported violation of an order of protection.

According to police, officers located Brandon M. Tingue, 39, of Jamestown, hiding in nearby woods a short distance from the residence.

Police said the residence was associated with a person who had a stay-away order of protection against Tingue.

Tingue was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

He was charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree and was being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

The charge is an allegation, and Tingue is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
