(WNY News Now) – A Rochester man and a North Carolina man have pleaded guilty to federal charges stemming from a firearms trafficking conspiracy involving weapons transported to Western New York.

Hassian Humphrey, 24, of Rochester, and Keishawn Turner, 25, of Kannapolis, North Carolina, pleaded guilty to separate conspiracy charges, according to U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo.

Humphrey pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit firearms offenses, while Turner pleaded guilty to conspiracy to engage in the firearms business without a license. Both charges carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

According to court proceedings, the conspiracy operated between May 2022 and June 24, 2025. Humphrey and Turner allegedly worked with Jylin Woods, Benjamin Martin, also known as Benji, Ben10 and Gun Man, and Jerry Antonio Baine, also known as Bank 3x, to sell firearms illegally.

Federal prosecutors said Humphrey and Turner exchanged photographs and videos of firearms, discussed prices and solicited potential buyers. In October 2023, the two transported five firearms, including a privately manufactured firearm commonly referred to as a ghost gun, from North Carolina to Western New York for resale. Two of those firearms were later recovered during search warrants in Buffalo.

Prosecutors also said Humphrey and Woods attempted to transport two firearms from North Carolina to Buffalo in May 2022. The vehicle was stopped in Oak Hill, West Virginia, where the firearms were seized.

Authorities allege Humphrey also communicated with Baine about firearm sales. Baine reportedly sent photographs of about 19 firearms, including several privately manufactured firearms without serial numbers. One firearm purchased by Baine in North Carolina was later recovered in Buffalo in July 2024 during a separate investigation.

None of the defendants involved in the alleged conspiracy were licensed firearms importers, manufacturers, dealers or collectors, prosecutors said.

Charges remain pending against Woods, Martin and Baine.

The case was investigated by the Buffalo Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Louis A. Testani and Monica Benjovsky are prosecuting the case.

Sentencing for Humphrey and Turner will be scheduled at a later date.
