(WNY News Now) – ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — Five Buffalo residents have been indicted in an alleged conspiracy to kill a witness who was expected to testify in a murder trial, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.

Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced Oct. 22 that four defendants face first-degree murder and second-degree conspiracy charges, while a fifth is charged with second-degree conspiracy.

The four defendants charged with murder and conspiracy are:

  • Lamarrio A. Clark, 29, also known as “Bolo”
  • Dayshawn J. Brazier, 35, also known as “Day Day”
  • James S. Barnwell, 27, also known as “Jay Rock”
  • Angela Bowser, 25

All four are from Buffalo.

Prosecutors allege the defendants conspired to kill Willraw T. Morrison, 23, to prevent him from testifying in the July 2025 trial of People v. Lamarrio Clark.

On March 19, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Buffalo police responded to a shooting on the first block of Krupp Street. Morrison was transported by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A fifth defendant, Amos J. Murray, 24, of Buffalo, is accused of participating in the alleged conspiracy and faces one count of second-degree conspiracy.

Brazier also faces an additional charge of attempted first-degree murder stemming from a separate shooting involving Morrison on Sept. 12, 2024, on Ashley Street in Buffalo.

Morrison was shot multiple times in that incident but survived. Prosecutors allege Brazier hired another person to carry out the shooting with the intent to kill Morrison.

All five defendants were held without bail and are scheduled to return to court for a pretrial conference on Dec. 11, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.

The investigation involved members of the Buffalo Police Department and the Erie County Sheriff’s Office. The case is being prosecuted by attorneys from the Erie County District Attorney’s Major Crimes Bureau and Special Victims Unit.

The charges are allegations. All five defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
