According to prosecutors, Manning entered a woman’s apartment at approximately 3:30 a.m. on March 9, 2026, after using force to open her front door.
The woman awoke to the noise and saw Manning inside her home. When she told him she was calling police and ordered him to leave, he exited the apartment.
Prosecutors said the woman then tried to close the door but could not because it had been damaged. Manning allegedly returned shortly afterward and attempted to speak with her through the doorway as she blocked the entrance with a chair and called 911.
Police located Manning inside his own apartment in the same building and took him into custody, according to the district attorney’s office.
Manning faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Kenneth F. Case on December 15, 2026, at 2 p.m.
The district attorney’s office said Manning was being held without bail pending sentencing. A temporary order of protection issued on behalf of the victim remains in effect.
Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane credited Hamburg Police Department Lt. Joseph Larosa and Officers Nicholas Faso and Samuel Meckley for their work on the investigation.
Assistant District Attorneys Ryan A. Fortuna and Alexander F. Sanchez prosecuted the case.
