JAMESTOWN – A man is facing multiple felony charges after City of Jamestown Police said he swapped VIN Plates on his vehicles.

Police said following a two month investigation, Jon C. Golden, 56, was charged with two counts of forgery of a vin number and two counts of illegal possession of a vin number.

Investigators allege that Golden attempted to register a 2011 Lincoln Limousine in New York State but was told by DMV officals that a lien was on the vechile and it could not be registered without satisfying the lien.

Golden then allegedly bought a similar vehicle from a Pennsylvania salvage yard, transferring its VIN plate to his 2011 Lincoln Limo.

Police said Golden turned himself in after a warrant for his arrest was issued from Jamestown City Court.
