Reed Says Shutdown Meeting With Trump Was ‘Constructive’

WASHINGTON – Congressman Tom Reed, in an effort to renew negotiations about border security and end the government shutdown, met with President Donald Trump this week and said the meeting was constructive.

Reed and members of the Problem Solvers Caucus recently attended a White House meeting with Trump to discuss ending the partial government shutdown and securing the southern border.

“Tom and other members of the Problem Solvers Caucus had a constructive meeting with the President, which allowed all sides to better understand each other’s points of view,” Rep. Reed’s Communication’s Director Will Reinert said. “We look forward to continuing this conversation.”

Reed has been trying to promote bipartisan cooperation on the shutdown and border security. Reed was on news shows this morning discussing his meeting with Trump.
