Jackals Comeback Effort Falls Short

JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Jackals basketball team lost at home for the second time this season on Sunday after suffering a 120-114 loss to the San Diego Waves, dropping their record to 2-2.

San Diego had a 63-45 halftime lead and were up by as many as 21 points during the game.

The Jackals were able to shave the deficit down to two points in the fourth quarter, but were unable to complete the comeback.





Glenroy Carr, Jr. scored a game-high 26 points for the Jackals, finishing seven-of-nine from the field and a perfect 12-12 from behind the charity stripe. Carr also pulled down eight rebounds.

In his first home game in a Jackals uniform, James Helton scored 25 points and a game-high nine rebounds.

Jamestown shot 44.2% from the floor (38/86), and went 35/37 on free-throws (94.6%.)





















The Jackals, however made only three treys on 17 attempts.

Four different Waves players scored 20+ points.

Bernard Edwards scored 24 points and added four boards and five assists.

Ivan Dooley netted 23, including three 3s.









Waves team captain, Henry French, scored 21 and added seven boards.

Gregoryshon Magee finished with 20 points on eight of 14 shooting, and he tied the game-high in rebounds with nine.

San Diego made the same amount of field-goals as the Jackals with 38. The Waves went 38-63 from the floor, a 60.3% success rate.

San Diego also attempted 47 free-throws in the game, making 36 of them (76.6%).

The Waves improved to 3-2 with the win respectively.

The Jackals will begin a three-game, three-day stretch on Friday night at 10 p.m. Eastern Time against the Yakima Sun Kings.
