KIANTONE – Three people were arrested after New York State Police said they seized several drugs Tuesday following a car accident on Route 62.

When troopers responded to the scene, they reportedly observed methamphetamine in plain sight on the back seat of the vehicle.

A vehicle search and search of the people resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, crack, heroin, several pills, needles containing heroin residue, crack pipes, methamphetamine pipes and several other items containing drug residue.

Matthew Vanarsdale, 30, of Youngsville, Pa., is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, four counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation (warrant).

Samantha Kitchen, 28, of Warren, PA, is charged with eight counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument.

The driver, Zachary Miller, 27, of Warren, PA, is charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. As the driver, Miller was also cited for Failing to Use Designated Lane.

All three were then transported to the Chautauqua County Jail, pending arraignment.
