Chautauqua County Sheriff Jim Quattrone told WNYNewsNow that the fire was out when crews received the call for help at 7:30 a.m.

Quattrone did not have an updated condition for the woman as of 10:20 a.m. but said she was unable to communicate with first responders at the scene.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating how and why she was set ablaze.

Investigators said the woman sustained third-degree burns over 70 percent of her body.

The Sheriff said her inability to communicate with investigators has made the case more difficult.

“It (her being unable to communicate) will definitely add a level of difficulty to the investigation,” said Quattrone.

Cassadaga Fire Department, Sheridan Fire Department, Chautauqua County EMS also responded to the scene.

We will update this report as we receive more information.
