JAMESTOWN – Two people were charged following a domestic dispute which had been initially reported as a stabbing at 307 W. 8th St. Friday afternoon.

City of Jamestown Police said Elizabeth Walz, 25, and Eric V. Walz, 28, were fighting with one another before officers arrived.

Through an investigation police learned that Eric Walz struck Elizabeth Walz in the back with a closed fist.

Police said Eric Walz also allegedly choked Elizabeth Walz to the point where she almost became unconscious.

Eric Walz also allegedly threw Elizabeth’s cell phone against a wall causing damage to the phone, police said.

Both Eric and Elizabeth Walz were arrested and taken to city jail pending arraignment.

Eric Walz was charged with second-degree strangulation, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Elizabeth Walz was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child as police said the fight occurred in the presence of a 7-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy.
