ALBANY – A former top aide to New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo has been given more time before he has to go to prison.

Joseph Percoco is appealing his conviction of corruption charges.

Percoco was found guilty of taking hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes as part of the Buffalo Billion investigation.

He was supposed to go to prison on Mar. 1, but an appeals court ruled last week he can remain free as he continues his appeal of the decision.

Percoco and the businessmen have maintained their innocence. Cuomo, a Democrat, was not accused of wrongdoing in the case.
