Jamestown Man Charged After Allegedly Fleeing Police Following Reported Fight

JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man is charged after he allegedly fled from officers Sunday afternoon, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

Police report they responded to the area of West Sixth and Washington Streets for a report of a fight. Officers reportedly located a white male who they said possibly had a knife.

The man, identified as Michael L. Johnson, no age given, allegedly ran from officers, but was detained a short time later. Johnson, when located, allegedly possessed a small quantity of methamphetamine.











Johnson is charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Johnson was taken to Jamestown City Jail to await arraignment.
