Trio Allegedly Possesses Loaded, Defaced Pistol Illegally During Stop

DUNKIRK – Three Dunkirk residents allegedly possessed a loaded, defaced pistol without the legal right to possess the firearm during a traffic stop at 15 N. Main St. on Mar. 23, according to the Dunkirk Police Department. 

Police said they originally responded to 152 Lake Shore Drive East for a report of a person with a gun. Upon arrival, officers reportedly observed a vehicle leaving the scene that witnesses reported contained the firearm.

At that time, officers also reportedly learned that the person who allegedly threatened others with the firearm was running south on South Beaver Street from Lakeshore Hospital. The person was located and arrested.


Christian M. Padilla-Rivera, 29, Limarys Carmona, 41, and Aixmary R. Rodriguez-Rosa, 35, are charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and manufacture, transport, disposition and defacement of weapons and dangerous isntruments and appliances.

Nelson Catala is additionally charged with two counts of second-degree menacing and one count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon for a previous conviction.
