Newland Avenue Man Charged With Possessing Cocaine

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police report the arrest of a Newland Avenue man with possession of cocaine after they responded to assist him while he had locked himself out of his apartment.

Police said they responded to 322 Newland Ave, at 9:49 p.m. Saturday to assist a man locked out of his apartment. Police said Warren E. Dinkins, 55, placed his personal belongings on the ground and police noticed a vial of a powdery substance. They detained Dinkins and found more of the substance on his person, they said. The substance was determined to be cocaine.

Dinkins was charged with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance and second-degree obstruction. He was held pending arraignment.
