Joe Biden Officially Launches 2020 Campaign

Joe Biden

WASHINGTON – Following months of speculation, former Vice President Joe Biden has made it official; he will seek the democratic nomination for President in 2020.

Biden made the announcement in this campaign video released early Thursday morning.

The video begins with him calling out president trump for his response to protests and violence by white nationalists in Charlottesville, Virginia, back in 2017.

This is Biden’s third run for the democratic presidential nomination.

He had short-lived bids in 1988 and 2008, and also considered a run in 2016, but ultimately opted against it.

Biden served as Vice President under Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017. Before that, he represented Delaware in the U.S. Senate for 36 years.

Biden is now part of a crowded field of at least 20 major candidates seeking the Democratic nomination.
